Gite (80m2) consisting of living room with open kitchen, flat-screen TV, two bedrooms (1 bedroom with double bed (180x200) 1 bedroom with 2 single beds 90x200), bathroom with rain shower, separate toilet. All rooms are on the ground floor, with a small step to the back building.
The gite is suitable for 4 adults or a family. It is possible to add a cot.
In front of the gite is the covered terrace (5x6), where you can stay all day in summer. Next to the house is a sun terrace where you can enjoy the first rays of the sun. On the grounds (1.5 hectares) there are many terraces and a so-called Infinity pool of 17x6 m (with a depth of 1-2.20 m). Infinity means that the pool has a channel in which smaller children can swim safely. The pool is powered by an Ozone system, preventing the red-eye effect and it uses little chlorine. Sun loungers are also available (at no extra cost) and there is a pool house. There are many fruit trees in the garden that invite you to pick your own.
Surroundings
Close to town and yet very quiet is the best description of the gite. By car, within 5 minutes you reach the city of Marmande with all the facilities a city offers as well as shopping facilities, central station, hospital etc. This town, situated on the Garonne, has a regional function with a lively centre and a market that takes place twice a week. There are also a few bars here. The airports of Bergerac and Bordeaux can be reached by car in 1 hour.
The village of Duras is about 20 km away (Chateau Duras), and in about 30 minutes by car you can reach the village of Casteljaloux with its thermal baths. There is a Walibi adventure park in Agen.
Besides the airport, Bordeaux also has Europe's longest shopping street, inviting you to linger and shop.
The Atlantic Ocean is a 1.5-hour drive from Grand Houstaud.
Other recommended day trips include Le Bugue, Sarlat, Lourdes. Barcelona can be reached by car in 5 hours. The choice is yours!
Culinary
The gite is located in a wine region, with the regional wine Côtes du Marmandais. The wine from the winegrowers' association (consumer cooperative) is available at the Cave du Beaupuy. This shop can be reached within minutes. The wine regions Côtes de Duras, Côtes de Bergerac and, of course, the world-famous Bordeaux wine regions are also within quick reach.
A restaurant with impressive views of Lac Beaupuy and Marmande can be reached on foot and your daily baquette or croissant it's a short drive.
Of course, there are other restaurants from different cultures in Marmande.
Several farmers in the area sell local products such as cheese, honey and plums in their farm shops, with the origin of the products gladly explained to you.
Activities
There are some marked hiking and cycling trails in the area. More information can be found in the Gite folder or on the internet. At nearby Lac de Beaupuy, you can undertake other activities such as fishing, petanque. In Marmande park (about 10 minutes by car) you can jog, skate, ride BMX or minigolf, walk the dog, picnic, etc.
